Grailed Is Stepping Up And Into The Sneaker Game With Versace Sneaker Designer Salehe Bembury

Grailed, the community-driven marketplace for curated men’s clothing, is stepping up their sneaker - reselling - game, to drive new sales to the online platform. Matthew Eberhart, VP of Marketing at Grailed, former Amazon Fashion executive as well as former Uniqlo executive, is helping the user personalize their collection of sneakers and build their brands within the e-commerce store.
Celebrating Grailed’s community of hyper-sneaker enthusiasts and sellers, the resale company is rolling out a two-week sneaker campaign and promotion. The Sole Supply sneaker shop experience centers around leading voices shaping the footwear industry and spotlighting some of the most vetted, sneakerheads and sellers on its global marketplace.
Matthew Eberhart speaks highly to what the Sole Supply sneaker shop experience is offering. “The fundamental difference of Grailed - is the community. That day when you could walk in [to stores], you could have the conversation - you could connect. That’s what [Grailed] is all about. When we talk to our sellers and we talk to our buyers, one thing that is so exciting to them is ‘hey, I’m meeting somebody.’ Sometimes it’s a celebrity. But, you're meeting people who are just as obsessed.”
This campaign will be in partnership with the 2020 Sneaker Designer of the Year, and former Versace Sneaker designer, Salehe Bembury. Others will have a chance to tell their story as well as make a few sales.
“Salehe is super unique. It’s not just a traditional sneaker. He’s done his New Balance, he’s done his Versace. He’s doing his own thing now. And he has this remarkable way to really mesh those worlds together; the high and the low. The thing that I find inspiring about him is that he’s inspired by nature. He’s also this beacon of sneakerhead and streetwear culture at the same time. It’s interesting how you get some of that juxtaposition and specific contrast between these different points of inspiration. That’s what I think he does really well,” Eberhart says of Bembury’s design aesthetic.
Grailed fans and sneakerheads can nerd out with the stories of the sneaker world’s most prominent collectors. The event will also provide users the opportunity to shop for rare items from their personal wardrobe collections. Rare items from brands like Supreme, Kith, Chinatown Market, and other brands valued by the Grailed community.
