Born in Paris in 1988, Marc Montagne showcased his entrepreneurial spirit early on, crafting his first website at the early age of 10. In 2012, he earned a dual degree in engineering and business before embarking on his professional journey at PayPal while simultaneously creating his initial startup venture.
The year 2013 marked a pivotal shift in his career trajectory as Montagne pursued his passion for horology, relocating to Switzerland to contribute his expertise to Jaeger-LeCoultre. Simultaneously and leveraging his tech background, his love for watchmaking turned into a new endeavor, Toolwatch—a platform designed to assist fellow watch aficionados in gauging timepiece accuracy. In 2017, Montagne embraced a new challenge at Vacheron Constantin, assuming the helm of the digital marketing team and spearheading the brand's first e-commerce website—his dream job.
An entrepreneur in spirit, in 2019 he launched Repetition Minute, the first French podcast dedicated to horology, followed by the inception of WatchAuctionHQ.com in 2021, proclaimed as the world’s largest watch auction result database.
Amidst the turbulence of the Covid era, Montagne embarked on a literary endeavor, writing his first non-fiction book, Invest in Watches: The Art of Watch Collecting, which was published in 2022.
Montagne is also a Member of the GPHG Academy and a lecturer at CREA Genève business school.
