On Thursday, November 3, the Norwegian, Oslo-based fashion line infused with a streetwear aesthetic, Holzweiler, hosted an intimate dinner at The Bard Room at the Hotel Chelsea in New York City to celebrate the ‘See the Light’ Holiday 2022 campaign fronted by A$AP Nast. Nast has been coveted as the face of campaigns from Levis to Lacoste and has been a part of the drop culture in fostering appetites for fashion, including collaborations with Burberry and Supreme for a Spring-Summer ‘22 collection, teased on his social media. Recently posted a plausible Stüssy x Dries Van Noten collaboration to his Instagram Stories, according to an observation from fashion editor Dylan Kelly of Hypebeast.
CEO Andreas Holzweiler and Head of Design Maria Skappel Holzweiler, along with A$AP Nast and New York’s most illustrious creatives and talent in and around the fashion industry, sipped on Norwegian-inspired cocktails and indulged in a three-course meal from the restaurant’s signature menu, a venue revived since it’s pandemically shut down. The night culminated with conversations, a truck parked out front of the restaurant with giant screens to display the campaign video, and a special DJ set by Memphy once dinner concluded.
Dressed in all Holzweiler, A$AP Nast mingled with notable guests who span different areas of fashion. Guests include Richie Shazam, Ben Draghi, Ama Elsesser, Dede Lovelace, Yazmine Rosario, Hannah Traore, Clara Perlmutter, Albert Ayal, Marc Sebastian, Brenn, and Jules Lorenzo, who all wore Holzweiler garments and head-to-toe looks. Quil Lemons, Anaa Saber, Bloody Osiris, Anna Trevelyan, Tanner Reese, Alexander Roth, Tyler Mazaheri, Bladi Corniel, and Gabrielle Richardson were also in attendance. The new Holiday 2022 campaign also featured Pitch Perfect: Bumper in Berlin actress Lera Abova in an interstellar-infused organic environment, set in industrial elements where reflections create an immersive experience called “See the Light.”
“Nast and Lera are such electrifying muses - charismatic, real, and each with a completely unorthodox take on personal style. We were so excited to shine a light - many lights actually - on their spirits through their campaign. They’re both these fearless, next-generation mavericks in their fields; beautiful examples of ‘possibility,” says Holzweiler co-founder Susanne Holzweiler.
‘See the Light’ enlisted a creative line-up that includes art director Flavio Tarquini, photographer Dexter Navy, stylist Mobolaji Dawodu, set designer Tom Schneider and music producer Kelvin Krash to create a campaign that has a progressive feel and infinite bean of light trajectory. Holzweiler has also sourced movement director Yagamoto, a collaborator for their last SS23 show at Copenhagen Fashion Week.
The Holzweiler Holiday 2022 collection precedes the SS23 runway show collection release that displayed clothing inspired by aerospace with parachute material and aerodynamic designs. Holiday 2022 offers bombers, masks, scarves, and knit sweaters, that complement this sentiment.
