"Katla is one of nine ventures and participants in an appraisal of the global fashion system, sponsored by the ITC,"
Thorbeck stated.
"The ITC's mission is 'Trade for Good,' and their research of process innovation and new data applications in apparel, led by fashion leaders like Aslaug Magnusdottir, aims to redefine the buyer/supplier relationship and its alternatives for productivity and prosperity."
Thorbeck also mentioned the upcoming release of a publication titled "Under the Banyan Tree: Buyers and Suppliers in Fashion." This publication, scheduled to be presented at the World Fashion Convention in Philadelphia on October 22, 2023, will delve into the research conducted by the project and highlight the efforts of fashion leaders like Aslaug Magnusdottir.
"The presentation is not the end of things but the beginning of a stronger proposition to create value across all tiers of the supply chain,"
Thorbeck emphasized.
"I have high hopes that Aslaug will be visible in articulating her approach to reduce inventory and capital risk, especially excess production.
