Desert Gates was inspired by the sustainable and eco-friendly brand Nuw'd X Kuntz which is handmade in berlin. Their collections aim was to create a futuristic and technical look while only using fair-trade, eco-friendly materials. This idea inspired us to research and find other creatives who have a different approach to creating a collection, weather its ethical values, using technology in their makings, taking a slow fashion approach, and mixing this with well-established names in the industry. We think as creators, it is our task to continuously research and discover what the younger designers are doing, and where fashion is headed.

Handmade in Berlin, Nuw'd X Kuntz pieces use either recycled materials or textiles which are certified according to the guidelines of the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS). The collection also includes silver accessories which were designed to modify and accentuate vintage clothing.

Nuw'd Accessories believes that by harnessing e-commerce and technology like 3D printing, they can transform from a mass production world into a more conscious, on-demand production mentality. Their jewelry isnʼt readily available: all pieces are produced individually and can be customized specifically for the customer without costing the world. They want their customers to shop with intention, make conscious decisions while doing so, and learn to embrace again the joy of anticipation.
